Description: This talk is a great opportunity to give back to schools in the area as it would also be streamed to other schools (e.g., St Aloysius College), over 400 students would benefit from this talk. The school would like you to discuss your current role, organisation, entry path (how did you get into the industry, are there other ways to get in?) and any tips on applications and making it into the industry while also introducing them to investment management as a whole.

This flagship event celebrates the achievements of women across various industries and fosters meaningful dialogue about leadership, diversity, and empowerment.

Our biggest conference was a resounding success, drawing over 370 attendees from 27 European universities, 15+ UK university societies, and 20+ companies. This year, we aim to take it further with inspiring keynote speeches, dynamic panel discussions, and unparalleled networking opportunities with professionals from sectors such as finance, law, and social media.

Description: Future Fridays – various dates (8:30-9:00am)

Speak to students in years 8 to 11 about individual careers and the industry worked in. This is an excellent opportunity for you and your team to inspire and educate our students about different career paths and the skills required in the workplace.

The session would involve a brief presentation followed by a Q&A session, allowing students to engage with professionals and gain valuable insights into various industries. Your participation in this initiative would be highly appreciated and would greatly benefit our students as they explore potential career options.

Below is what we would typically ask to be conveyed to the students.

Introduce yourself to the Thomas Knyvett students.

Talk about your education, courses, how/if you were unsure, if you sought any help (family members, friends, careers advisors, teachers).

Talk about how the Graduate scheme worked.

What working life is like.

Interview process.

These are just ideas – if you want to write down a script then please do send it over. The session itself is 30 minutes (08:30-09:00), please include pictures (even if these are generic from the internet) if possible, as making a visual connection is always good to engage our students.

St Paul’s Girls’ School Professional Speed Networking Event for Careers in Investment Banking and Finance

Times: 4:30pm - 6:30pm

Description: This event aims to offer our senior school (Y12-Y13) students the opportunity to learn more about the roles and pathways and the variety of careers in Investment Banking and Finance firsthand from alumnae working within this sector. Following a welcome and introduction the students and alumnae will be matched for short rotating sessions at tables in small networking groups and/or 1:1s and these sessions will be followed by a networking drinks reception. The event will take place in the Senior School Garden Building and will also be promoted to our partnership schools as part of the SPGS widening participation programme and will be open to students from the sixth form of these local partner schools.

Previous professional networking events in this format have been very well received by all those attending with very positive feedback from students.

Details: These Zoom workshops are mandatory for all candidates for the GAIN Empower Investment Internship Programme 2025. After a brief introduction from the GAIN team students will be divided into small breakout rooms with one volunteer to practice answering a series of common interview questions with the volunteer. The questions are provided by the GAIN team.

Request: We are looking for 80+ HR professionals and investment professionals with experience of conducting interviews. Volunteers of all genders welcome.
